My internships were more than just resume builders. They were opportunities to discover my strengths and grow into the professional I want to become. My journey through three internships at The AdMark Group, KB Home, and American Woodmark provided me with a diverse set of experiences across marketing, home building, and manufacturing. Each one taught me unique lessons and helped shape me into a confident, adaptable, and results-driven professional.
At The AdMark Group, I stepped into the world of marketing and digital media during my first summer of college. I worked on advertising scripts, managed client budgets, and shadowed the business owner to see how ideas develop into successful campaigns. At first, I doubted whether I could contribute meaningful ideas, since it was so early into my professional experience. Seeing my ideas respected and put into action gave me a strong sense of confidence. This internship taught me that creativity and belief in your contributions can lead to real impact.
My internship at KB Home introduced me to the analytical side of business, a side I have grown to love through my supply chain studies. I gathered and organized market research, developed Letters of Intent and Requests for Proposals for major homebuilding projects, and analyzed housing market competition to support marketing strategies. KB Home showed me that data provides the foundation for decision-making across every department. This experience demonstrated how research supports long-term growth, whether in housing, marketing, or supply chain.
At American Woodmark, I experienced the full scope of product development and supply chain operations. I analyzed market data to recommend new cabinet products, learned about supplier relationships and tariffs, and toured manufacturing plants to understand how products move from concept to customer. This internship brought everything together. I saw how strategy, operations, and customer demand intersect, and I gained a deeper appreciation for the complexity of supply chains and the collaboration required to keep them running.
From marketing creativity to housing market analysis to manufacturing strategy, each internship added a new layer to my professional identity. The AdMark Group gave me confidence in my ideas, KB Home strengthened my analytical mindset, and American Woodmark revealed the strategic side of operations. Together, they showed me that adaptability, curiosity, and resilience are essential for making an impact. As I look ahead to full-time opportunities, I carry these internship experiences as proof that growth comes from immersing yourself in unique perspectives and applying the lessons you learn across industries. I am excited to see what experience comes next!
