My internships were more than just resume builders. They were opportunities to discover my strengths and to grow into the professional I want to become. My journey through three internships at The AdMark Group, KB Home, and American Woodmark provided me with a diverse set of experiences across marketing, home building, and manufacturing. Each one taught me such unique lessons and really shaped me into a confident and adaptable results-driven professional.
At The AdMark Group, I stepped into the world of marketing and digital media my first summer of college. I worked on advertising scripts, managed client budgets, and shadowed the business owner to understand how ideas become strong campaigns. At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to provide good ideas, since it was so early into my professional experience, but seeing my ideas respected and actually becoming useful gave me great confidence in myself. This internship taught me that creativity and confidence in ideas can drive meaningful outcomes.
My internship at KB Home introduced me to the analytical side of business, one that I have grown to love through my supply chain studies. I gathered and organized market research, creating Letters of Intent and Requests for Proposals for major home build projects, as well as studying housing market competition to strengthen marketing efforts. At KB Home, I learned that data is the foundation for all decisions, for every department. This experience showed me how research supports long-term growth, whether in housing, marketing, or supply chain.
At American Woodmark, I experienced the full scope of product development and supply chain operations. I analyzed market data to recommend new cabinet products, learned about supplier relationships and tariffs, and toured manufacturing plants to see how products move from concept to customer. This internship last summer was where everything came together. I was able to see how strategy, operations, and customer demand intersect. It really gave me a deeper appreciation for the complexity of supply chains and all that goes within them.
From marketing creativity to housing market analysis to manufacturing strategy, each internship added a new layer to my professional identity. The AdMark Group gave me confidence in my ideas, KB Home sharpened my analytical mindset, and American Woodmark revealed the strategic side of operations. Together, they showed me that adaptability, curiosity, and resilience are the keys to making an impact. As I look ahead to full-time opportunities, I carry these internship experiences as proof that growth comes from immersing yourself in unique perspectives and applying the lessons you learn across industries.
